Free Flu Shots in Essington, PA Today and Tomorrow

Free flu shots will be given to those ages 9 and over October 1st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by the PA Department of Health at Tinicum Fire House 99 Wanamaker Ave. (Wanamaker Ave. and W. 2nd Street), Essington PA 19029.

This is a Drive Thru clinic where you can stay in your car and put your arm out the window to get your shot and was a very successful site last year. They are accepting food donations (can, dry food, etc.) for local food banks as well.

The Congressional Joint Economic Committee is holding a public hearing on the economic impact of eliminating the American Community Survey (ACS) at 2:30 p.m., in Room 210 of the Canon House Office Building. Witnesses that will be speaking in opposition to the move to eliminate the ACS are Vincent Barabba, former director of the Census Bureau in two GOP administrations and Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Association of General Contractors and also representing the National Association of Business Economists. It is very important that we pack the congressional hearing room! If you cannot come, please urge your colleages to come.
