Achieving Independence Mentoring Supervisor
Candidate must possess knowledge and understanding of volunteer recruitment and retention. Will have experience with issues related to older adolescents. Possess the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the mentoring program. Be a mature individual with knowledge of parenting issues, community resources, and the skills necessary to live independently. This person shall demonstrate insight, empathy, flexibility, perseverance, and team orientation. Generate reports and supervise 1 full-time and 1 part-time employee. Must be able to make presentations to businesses, corporations and other service groups to provide information and elicit interest. A BSW or Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Controller/Finance Director (Delaware County, PA)
PathWays PA is seeking an experienced hands-on financial leader to oversee all finance and IT functions. Must have five or more years accounting/financial management experience, preferably in a mid-size non-profit. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA or CPA a plus. Learning Center Group Supervisor
Experience in preschool setting and knowledge of early childhood development required. Develop and implement individualized educational goals for children. Requires a minimum Associates Degree from an Accredited College or University, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the Human Services field and three years of experience with children. Part-Time Math and Career-Readiness Teacher
PathWays PA is in need of a Math and Career-Readiness teacher for adults and young adults preparing for careers and postsecondary careers. Classes will be held mornings in the Philadelphia area. The classes will run for 6 weeks with 4 classes four days a week. Position requires 10 hours per week. Pay is competitive. Instructor should have experience working with adults and young adults. Federal Policy Updates  CONGRESS IN AGREEMENT TO WORK ON A 6-MONTH CONTINUING RESOLUTION Last week House and Senate leaders announced that a deal has been reached to pass a 6-month continuing resolution to fund the federal government through next spring. Mini-Budget Update-Supporting the American Community Survey

(via The Census Project ) Next Tuesday, June 19 is an important date to mark on your calendar. The Congressional Joint Economic Committee is holding a public hearing on the economic impact of eliminating the American Community Survey (ACS) at 2:30 p.m., in Room 210 of the Canon House Office Building. Witnesses that will be speaking in opposition to the move to eliminate the ACS are Vincent Barabba, former director of the Census Bureau in two GOP administrations and Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Association of General Contractors and also representing the National Association of Business Economists. It is very important that we pack the congressional hearing room! If you cannot come, please urge your colleages to come. Census data tells us that 13% of Pennsylvania households live in poverty. In reality, even more households don’t have the income they need to reach self-sufficiency. One in four Pennsylvania households – over 846,000 – lack enough income to cover just the necessities.
