Volunteer for the Delaware County Point-in-Time Street Count

Volunteers are needed for Delaware County: Point-In-Time Street Count. As a street count volunteer, you will be asked to assist an outreach team canvass pre-determined locations for homeless individuals and families. This is a valuable opportunity for anyone who would like a better understanding of the homeless experience in our community. Date for Point-in-Time (PIT): Jan 23 and 24, 2019. The moving ceremony began with Laila Hill, an accomplished singer and a PathWays PA employee, sharing her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Brenda Dawson, president and CEO of PathWays PA, gave the welcome and introduction. The GED test gives students of all ages the chance to move ahead with their educational attainment. In Delaware County, 6% of adults ages 25-64 do not have a high school education . Earning the GED is much more than a certificate. Delaware County Crisis Connections Team is Here to Help!

The Delaware County Crisis Connects Team (DCCCT) consists of services available to Delaware County residents who may be at risk for emotional crisis. The service continuum was developed in collaboration with Elwyn, The Delaware County Department of Human Services Office of Behavioral Health, and Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania, Inc. DCCCT 's goal is to provide crisis services that are recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. There are two forms of assistance that DCCCT can provide. The warm line, 1 (855) 464-9342, is if you need social support or someone to talk to. It is available Monday thru Friday from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 7pm. The mobile crisis team, 1 (855) 889-7827, is for those who need immediate help with a mental, health or substance abuse issue. The crisis mobile team is available 24 hours a day, everyday and will come to you.

Join Us for an Open House Friday Celebrating Our New TLP Location!

On Friday, June 28 at 11AM, PathWays PA, Chester Mayor John Linder, and other Delaware County elected officials will celebrate the opening of our new Transitional Learning Program (TLP) located at 419 Avenue of the States in Chester. TLP provides furnished apartments for homeless young women over an 18-month period while they continue their education, maintain a job or receive skills training. Group and individual counseling to pregnant adolescents and teen moms between the ages of 16 and 21 is also available. TLP assists young women in their transition to independence and is available to those who are not clients of the child welfare or juvenile justice system. Post discharge, PathWays PA provides aftercare services to all young women and their children for up to one year. Please join us for this special day. Family and Finance Open House Tomorrow at 4PM!

This Thursday at 4PM at The Original Coffee Bar located at 943 MacDade Blvd in Collingdale. State Representative Nick Miccarelli (R-Ridley Park) will cohost an event with the Delaware County Asset Development Group . This event will put residents in touch with services and programs designed to make them financially aware year-round. The event is specifically targeted to assist women who are not only responsible for family care, but are increasingly becoming more responsible for the financial security of their families. It also precedes The Original Coffee Bar's movie night - free for all to enjoy. DelcoAD is a network of agencies, educational and financial institutions dedicated to building the financial health and stability of individuals and families in Delaware County. Join the Friends of the Delaware County Women's Commission Annual Dinner to honor the talents and aspirations of women and girls in Delaware County. The keynote speaker will be Catherine M. Cahill of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts . The event will be held at the Springfield Country Club, 400 W. Sproul Road in Springfield. DelCo Drug Take-Back Day

District Attorney John J. Whelan joined Delaware County Council to urge residents to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs during national Take-Back Day set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at 16 locations throughout the county. The Take-Back initiative is a nationwide campaign that aims to collect potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and properly dispose of them. The program is free, anonymous and will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 29 at 16 collection sites. According to officials, those who participate in this event will help reduce the supply of prescription drugs available to those who might otherwise try to steal, abuse or sell them. At the Take-Back event, collection sites will anonymously accept both prescription and over-the-counter products that are solid in nature (tablets or capsules) with no questions asked. However, any intravenous solutions, injectables, needles, or illegal substances such as marijuana or methampheta...
