As COVID-19 wreaks havoc across the globe, Philadelphia workers are experiencing devastating - and potentially long lasting - economic hardship. On Thursday, March 26 at 6 pm, join hundreds of impacted Philadelphia workers and elected City Hall officials for a virtual town hall to hear more about the impact of the coronavirus on retail, restaurant, healthcare, education, and domestic workers - and proposed solutions to the financial devastations we face. Workers will be joined by City Councilmembers and the Mayor’s Office for this video (Zoom) town hall. The Family Care Act would establish a paid family medical leave program in PA, granting working Pennsylvanians the time to care for themselves or other family members, such as an elderly loved one in need of in-home care, a child recovering from a serious illness, or an infant in the critical months following birth or adoption. Join Family Care Act Sponsors Representative Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) and Senator Maria Collett (D-Montgomery), along with a panel of experts, as they discuss how their legislation would benefit working families and help Pennsylvania’s small businesses compete. *** Sign the Petition !*** On Wednesday June 5, a bipartisan group of State Senators and Representatives will be hosting a press conference at the PA State Capitol in Harrisburg to announce "The Family Care Act" - a bill that will establish a statewide family and medical leave program. PathWays PA is proud to support the  Family Care Campaign  along with the Women and Girls Foundation and countless partners. We have been working hard to get this bill introduced in the legislature, and now we need your help to get it passed!  We invite you to join us for this special day of action – please let us know if you will be attending !

This year, PathWays PA is holding a Voter Registration and Literacy Fair on September 25 (which is  National Voter Registration Day ). Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” in a single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise. Community Legal Services of Philadelphia will be hosting a community education event to help you learn more about issues that directly impact you. These issues include knowing whether or not you are entitled to overtime pay, if your employer is required to provide paid sick leave, how to combat employer discrimination, and other similar issues. The workshop will be held the Community Legal Services North Philadelphia Office located at 1410 W. Erie Avenue on Monday August 21 at 6:00pm. This workshop is being hosted as part of the Services "Learn The Law" series which helps citizens get information about their legal problems. If you have any questions or are slightly curious, make an effort to stop by, it will be a very useful night full of helpful legal education!

On Monday, July 17th 2017, Community Legal Services will be hosting a workshop to help you learn what your rights are as a tenant. If you have any questions about the topic, from when you should get your security deposit back to whether or not you can legally be evicted. Come out to learn the law and learn your rights! The training will be held in New Brunswick at the Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center on Feb. 24 - 25th, 2015 and will be conducted by the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, Jobs With Justice, and the Scholars Strategy Network. Women faculty, union leaders and members and community leaders are invited to participate.
