Join Us Tomorrow as We Support Medicaid Expansion!

Tomorrow continues a week long call-in effort to ask the Governor and legislators to support Medicaid expansion in PA. We ask women in the health community to contact the Governor and their elected Representatives and to let them know we want them to support the Medicaid expansion in Pennsylvania.

The Medicaid expansion would extend coverage to up to 200,000 uninsured Pennsylvania women, promoting the health and economic well-being of women and families in our state.

Please also join us tomorrow from 3PM-7PM at Child Guidance Resource Center located at 2000 Old West Chester Pike in Havertown for a photo and call-in event for parents and children to have their voices heard.

The Congressional Joint Economic Committee is holding a public hearing on the economic impact of eliminating the American Community Survey (ACS) at 2:30 p.m., in Room 210 of the Canon House Office Building. Witnesses that will be speaking in opposition to the move to eliminate the ACS are Vincent Barabba, former director of the Census Bureau in two GOP administrations and Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Association of General Contractors and also representing the National Association of Business Economists. Census data tells us that 13% of Pennsylvania households live in poverty. In reality, even more households don’t have the income they need to reach self-sufficiency.
