The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act is a common-sense piece of legislation that would require employers to make reasonable accommodations when workers need them because of pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions — just as they are already required to do for disabilities. 35 years ago the Pregnancy Discrimination Act was signed into law. But there is obviously a lot more work to do.
