Support PathWays PA with "Bags 4 My Cause" this December

By -

We are so excited to share that PathWays PA has been selected to be a part of the GIANT Bags 4 My Cause Program, which is designed to make it easy for customers to contribute to their local community while supporting the environment.

For the month of December, each time a $2.50 reusable Bags 4 My Cause Bag is purchased at the GIANT located at 950 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA, $1 will be donated to PathWays PA (unless the customer chooses otherwise). This is a great way to raise awareness, support the environment and fundraise for our cause.

If you shop at GIANT, please support PathWays PA in December by purchasing a Bag 4 My Cause! And if you know someone who shops there, please share this information.

Final Vote on FMAP Extension Today: Help Balance Pennsylvania’s Budget

By -
Last night the U.S. House Committee on Rules set the stage for a vote today on H.R. 4213 -the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010. Despite some modifications to the bill, the extended enhanced Medicaid match rate (FMAP) remains in the bill. The extension includes $24.1 billion for 6 months, of which Pennsylvania will receive $848 million. H.R. 4213 also includes crucial extension of the provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) related to unemployment, COBRA, a temporary extension of the Emergency Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) fund, as well as other provisions. This enhanced FMAP is central to PA balancing its 2010-2011 budget without deep cuts to education, health and human services and the job losses that inevitably would follow. If you feel FMAP is important, please pick up the phone, send an email, and/or offer up a Tweet to members of Congress and ask them to support the reworked Jobs/Tax Extenders Bill and thank th...

PathWays PA, a service and advocacy organization for women, children and families, is releasing this report to examine the impact of education, gender, and race on the overlooked and undercounted in Pennsylvania as they relate to the Self-Sufficiency Standard. The report also shows how many households in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties live below the Self-Sufficiency Standard, along with other important information. The release of Overlooked and Undercounted: Struggling to Make Ends Meet in Pennsylvania marks the first time that demographic data relating to the Self-Sufficiency Standard has been...
